My current body of work probes veiled, fluid, and ever-evolving situations, underscoring the dangers of treating borders as immutable truths. Drawn arbitrarily across land and property, these lines solidify notions of ownership and spark the urge to defend or seize. As global geopolitical fault lines sharpen, such boundaries only amplify conflict and tension among nations and peoples.

These works emerge from personal experiences that linger, like witnessing a plume of smoke arc across the Seoul sky as a North Korean missile was shot down, a moment both terrifying and strangely beautiful, capturing the duality of fear and wonder.

This site-responsive sculpture, created during a residency in Beijing, uses PVC tubes and connectors to reinterpret an iconic Chinese fable. Through its modular, industrial materials, it reflects on how cultural traditions adapt and persist within rapidly shifting social and historical contexts.

As a child, I was fascinated by the ease with which my father (artist/painter) navigated vastly different approaches to painting. This early exposure to diverse ways of depicting landscape sharpened my sensitivity to the natural environment and its power to shape, mirror, and carry cultural, historical, and personal meaning.

Environmental destruction reshapes both landscapes and human lives, creating a new visual terrain that highlights the complexity of perception and challenges our sense of reality.
