On Going
A lot of my work begins with personal experience—moments that stay with me and later emerge through the process of making. I remember standing in Seoul and watching smoke trails arc across the sky after a North Korean missile was shot down. It was terrifying, but also strangely beautiful. That duality—the fear and the wonder—stuck with me. I feel something similar when watching hurricanes form: I’m in awe of the raw power of nature, but also deeply troubled by the destruction they leave behind and how little we seem to learn from it in the face of climate change.
