“Looking For Plum Blossoms” 1 minute video ©1999~2002
single channel video animation - NTSC - one minute loop - (silent)

Looking For Plum Blossoms is a title of a painting that was created in 1766 A.D. by a Korean artist named Sim Sa-jong. The painting depicts an aristocrat and a servant traveling in search of plum blossoms: the first flowers to bloom in the spring, even in snow, symbolizing purity and fortune. This work addresses several issues including the irony in human relationships (in this case between the servant and the aristocrat) and the innate human desire to romanticize nature.

NOTE: the video is still for most of the time and silent, patience is needed.
